Eric Vidal began his academic journey at Long Island University C.W. Post Campus, where he studied Child Psychology, gaining a deep understanding of child development and education. This foundation was instrumental as he transitioned into a career in education, where he has now accumulated over 13 years of experience. His career took a pivotal turn in 2020 when he became the first Athletic Director in the history of AECI 2. Currently, Eric is pursuing a Sports Management degree at American University, with a focus on advancing his expertise in sports administration and leadership.

As the Athletic Director at AECI 2, Eric oversees all aspects of the school’s athletic programs, from coordinating team logistics to fostering student-athletes' development both on and off the field. His role involves cultivating a strong sports culture within the school, supporting student-athletes' academic and athletic growth, and ensuring the school meets competitive standards. Recent accomplishments include expanding the range of sports offered at AECI 2, increasing student participation in athletics, and building stronger community partnerships to support the school’s sports initiatives.

Eric’s unique expertise lies in his ability to connect the psychological aspects of youth development with athletic performance, creating a holistic approach to student engagement. He is dedicated to ensuring that sports serve as a vehicle for personal growth, teamwork, and leadership. His background in education also allows him to effectively mentor students, focusing not only on their athletic performance but also on their academic success and character development.

A fun fact about Eric: he played college football and, during high school, threw the javelin, where he won a city championship. His passion for sports extends beyond his role as Athletic Director. He also runs his own business, training young athletes and helping them maximize their potential. Outside of work, Eric enjoys staying active, playing basketball recreationally and playing golf. Moving forward, he’s excited about the continued growth of AECI 2’s sports program and the opportunity to guide the next generation of student-athletes.
