Billy Ribeiro
Billy Ribeiro is a distinguished educator and the Founder and Executive Director of the City Schools Sports Association (CSSA). With a steadfast commitment to improving the physical and mental well-being of youth, Billy has created impactful programs that promote not just athletic skills, but also teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. His background in teaching and community engagement has been pivotal in shaping these initiatives.
Billy earned his BS in Physical Education and Youth Development from the State University of New York College at Cortland, followed by an MS in Special Education and General Education from The City University of New York. He holds professional certifications in Physical Education, Health Education, Special Education, and General Education. With over a decade of teaching and coaching experience, Billy has a deep understanding of various educational environments and sports.
A former college baseball player who earned scholarships and competed in the College World Series, Billy leverages his athletic experience to enhance CSSA's offerings. Under his leadership, CSSA has introduced a range of initiatives aimed at providing underserved youth with access to sports, mentorship, and wellness education. These include 15 different athletic programs across city schools, the creation of the first-ever ESPORTS league, a scholarship program for aspiring student-athletes, and partnerships with local colleges for student internships.
Billy's vision for CSSA is to foster a supportive environment where every child can realize their potential and develop a lasting passion for physical activity and competitive sports. His dedication to positively impacting young lives ensures that they have the opportunities and support needed to excel both on and off the field.
