KANIKA RICHARDSON

Dr. Kanika Richardson is an experienced education, athletics, and operations leader with a career centered on building strong programs, developing people, and creating systems that help organizations thrive. Her professional journey spans K-12 education, higher education, collegiate athletics, and sports management, giving her a unique perspective on leadership, organizational strategy, student development, and operational excellence.

Throughout her career, Dr. Richardson has led complex operations, developed teams, strengthened organizational culture, and transformed vision into sustainable systems and practices. Her experience in collegiate athletics administration includes program development, student-athlete experience, recruitment and enrollment strategy, revenue generation, facilities, partnerships, and staff leadership. She also serves as an adjunct professor in Sports Management, allowing her to invest in the development of future professionals in the industry.

In her current work, Dr. Richardson brings a solutions-oriented approach to leadership and operations, with a passion for improving processes, strengthening accountability, and creating environments where employees and students can succeed. She also serves as the High School League Coordinator for the City Schools Sports Association (CSSA), providing leadership and coordination for high school athletics while supporting effective league operations and a positive experience for member schools and student-athletes.

Looking ahead, Dr. Richardson is excited to continue developing leaders, improving organizational effectiveness, and creating innovative approaches that contribute to sustainable growth and an exceptional student experience.

An HBCU graduate and lifelong sports enthusiast, Dr. Richardson continues to draw on her connection to athletics to shape her leadership style through teamwork, preparation, adaptability, and continuous improvement. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring ways to combine her passions for education, sports, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
